Micro-piles — also called pin piles or mini piles — are small-diameter (100mm to 300mm) drilled and grouted steel-reinforced piles capable of carrying high axial and lateral loads while working in conditions where conventional large-diameter piling is not feasible.
Micropiling is frequently the only viable foundation solution when working in restricted-access spaces with low overhead clearance, strengthening existing foundations that are settling or structurally deficient, or constructing in areas where large vibration from driven piles would damage adjacent structures.
